"Rivers do not drink their own water; trees do not eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is...Life is good when you are happy; but much better when others are happy because of you." Pope Francis

Old Man Rivers Mission has a program to help individuals obtain eye exams and glasses. This is income based. The individual must complete an application through our office. We will notify you of the date and time of your appointment. All appointments must be kept because we do not reschedule. We will help an individual once every five years due to the number of requests for this service.
Old Man Rivers Mission has been in existence since 1991. The mission is coming upon its 32nd Anniversary of operation. All services provided through the mission are free of charge and provided by a staff of volunteers. If you would like to be a part of helping others within the community, please contact us. We are especially in need of individuals who can help us deliver the weekend meals. If you have a clean driving record, we need drivers. if driving is not your thing, we need individuals who can get the meals from the truck to the doors.
